Easter pictures

Seems like tradition lately that we take an easter picture of the kids. They all looked so cute and we used the money that family have given for Austin's 12th birthday for a new suit. He turns twelve in 3 weeks. We let him wear it early for Easter, but now he has to wait until his birthday. He looked so sharp! So did all the other kids too! I was amazed at how well they were posing. I had them get in position and they held it pretty well.

Samuel's "Chicken Pox" turned out really mild. I'm starting to wonder if he even had chicken pox. He had spots which are now scabbed over, but he had a fraction of spots that I had when I got them as a kid. No other kids got it.

We had our own egg hunt yesterday afternoon. I had Sam, Jonas and Isaac in the front room, and Austin, Jacob and Lucy in another with each room having different levels of difficulty.

Cathi took my breath away today. I'm telling you she could be a model.

What grown people do for prizes

Today Tomax had its annual Easter Egg Hunt. I love watching the youth and energetic coworkers run and hurdle for candy or prizes. Such a joyous season!

If you want your own copy of this video, Right click here and select "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As". Then when you play it back hit Alt + Enter to see it in full screen mode (Same keys to minimize back to normal). Entertaining stuff.

Cathi's Before/After pics

I reserve the right to brag about my wife who has worked very hard exercising every day for literally hours, making healthy meals and been an inspiration to me! No the weight didn't just "fall off". She worked hard and had to give up alot of tasty treats and sweat through miles upon miles of running and swimming.
Here is the "Before Picture". It is right after Oliver was born. The heaviest she has ever been in her life. With this being our last pregnancy it is exciting to know that those big and heavy days are in the past never to appear again! Cathi's quest to lose weight has really inspired me and made everyone healthier and happier. Except for the kids. They recently complained about not having ice cream in a very long time.

Here is the "After Picture". We tried to keep the same pose to provide a similar perspective. Oliver sure has put on some serious weight here! :) Cathi is feeling so good these days and seems so much happier and fun with the kids. She is just as beautiful as the day I married her! We're both so completely in love and feel so blessed to have such a great life together. It has been a total dream come true.

Anyhow she has lost 80 pounds starting the day she left the hospital with Oliver until now. This is really a lifestyle change and not just a mere diet, so the exercise and good eating will continue and the stress of watching the scale, anticipating losses can stop.

Triathlons planned for this year
  1. Logan Balanced Man Triathlon - Apr 12 (Results)

  2. Xango Echo Triathlon - July 12 (Results)

  3. Ogden Sprint Triathlon - September 13

She is also doing the Wasatch Back relay June 20-21st which is a team relay starting in Logan going all the way to Park City. Ask her about the details. Cool stuff.

Way to go Cathi! We're proud of you!

Me generous? Me a leader?

Thanks to Rose Mitchell's blog (which didn't post properly), I took this personality test. Me a "generous leader"?

Far out! Interesting stuff. These tests are a little fun, but wouldn't put very much weight into the analysis.

Workplace Toilet Ettiquette

I heard someone pressing on laptop keys in a bathroom stall. That is so gross. Please working professionals! Don't take your laptop to the toilet and attempt to work while pinching a loaf! I know its called a laptop, but that is in reference to a lap that isn't accompanied with flexed butt checks or occasional ball scratching.

Lucy

Lately, Lucy has been doing alot of coloring and art projects, just for fun. She often gives notes and pictures to people. This last week she surprised me with a hidden love note and some pictures.
This morning I woke up early for work, and she was already up and dressed and had already colored a picture of shapes, as well as read out of her book that she checked out of the newly established "Gridley Kid Library" which Jacob is running. He is already eager to collect late fees so he can buy new books.

Lucy is excited for school and full of energy and it's not even 7:00 am yet!

Best Massage so far

Today after work I had an appointment at the Career College over by Walmart in Layton for a massage. Last time it was done by a short girl who did a decent job, but just a tad too light for my liking. I want to get knots out and want something that hurts just a little.

Well when I came in for the massage it was done by a dude about my same build. At first I was a little disappointed. Having a guy rub me is creepy, but at the same time so is a woman other than Cathi. I figured either way its gonna be awkward.

When he worked on my back he told me to tell him if it was too much. He pushed hard on the muscles under my shoulder blades. For about 10 seconds it was very painful. But I just can't get myself to say something. It's like saying "uncle" and the guy thinks he beat me. So I just grinned and rode the pain. I'm glad I did cause the knots in my back were really worked on. Everything else was good too. Probably the best massage I've had so far, and I've had probably 7 of them.

The guy's name was Blake Ostler. I gave him a good tip.
